i do this every year
Hi everyone,
With Christmas just around the corner, most of us are thinking about gifts and holidays—but the taxman is already looking at 2026. 😅
If you want to legally reduce your income tax for the coming year, you have exactly until December 31st to take action with the Supplementary Retirement Scheme (SRS).
I just recorded a deep-dive video explaining how the SRS works and how you can use it to keep more of your hard-earned money.
🎬 Watch the SRS Guide here: 👉
⚠️ Why you shouldn't wait:
The SRS is a "dollar-for-dollar" tax relief. This means every dollar you contribute (up to $15,300 for locals/PRs and $35,700 for foreigners) reduces your taxable income by that exact amount (if you are still within the max relief cap).
But here’s the catch:
The Deadline: You must credit the funds by 31 December 2025. Most banks have a cut-off time (some as early as 7:00 PM!), so don't leave it until the very last minute.
The "Idle Cash" Trap: Many people contribute but leave the money sitting there earning 0.05%. In the video, I talk about how to actually invest those funds so they grow.
🎄 Merry Christmas!
I hope you have a fantastic break with your loved ones. Take 10 minutes to watch the video before the year ends—it might just be the best "gift" you give your future self this season!
See you in the video,
Pete
