Day 26 of the Iran war. And yesterday changed things.

The US submitted a formal 15-point ceasefire proposal to Iran via Pakistan. Iran called it "maximalist and unreasonable" and countered with its own 5 demands including sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz and war reparations.

Trump says Iran wants a deal but is afraid to say so publicly. Iran says there are no talks. Markets chose to believe Trump. Dow up 305 points. Oil fell to $102.

But here is the reality. The gap between the two proposals is enormous. The five-day pause on US strikes expires this weekend. Peace talks may or may not happen this Friday. And oil is still up nearly 50% since this war began.
